Below is a quick overview of the markt and what performing here could look like before you tell us about your act.
About the Markt
The Ferdinand Christkindlmarkt is a German-style Christmas market held across several venues in Ferdinand, Indiana. An opening ceremony kicks off the weekend on Friday, and the main markt days are on Saturday and Sunday of the third full weekend in November. Admission is free, and it draws over 10,000 visitors from across the tri-state area.
What we are looking for
Live music, carolers, dance groups, theatrical and strolling acts that suit a traditional Christmas markt. German and classic holiday repertoire is especially welcome, but any act that fits the atmosphere will be considered.
Performance slots
A performance should be between 15-30 minutes, and there are options for entertainment to be inside or outside the different markt sites. The committee has final say over approving performances, locations and times. Preferences can be submitted but are not guaranteed.
What we provide
A performance space, listing on the markt schedule and website, and shared promotion across our social channels. Some venues may have equipment. Please tell us on the form what you need, and we will confirm what is available.
What you provide
Your own instruments, costumes and any equipment your act relies on. Outdoor areas are exposed to potential winter weather, so please consider if not able to perform outside in the elements before applying as indoor space isn't guaranteed.
Compensation
Many acts perform as a community contribution, and some are paid from the entertainment budget. Tell us on the form whether you expect compensation and what you have in mind, and the committee will discuss with you about what is possible.
